At Epoxymize we pay great attention to floor prep. We start by grinding the concrete floor mechanically to remove any traces of old coatings, oils, stains, glues, and dirt. Mechanically grinding the floor also ensures we reach the correct concrete profiling.
Once we've removed all contaminants, we move onto repairing any cracks, hairlines and holes in the floor. This step is crucial in ensuring the structural integrity of the concrete slab and the epoxy floor.
Once we are happy with the concrete's look, we apply a primer to the floor. The primer acts as a moisture barrier, preventing the epoxy coating from lifting.
